next:classroom continues on the road to success

The year 2019 started for the Hamburg-based company edu:cube with the presentation of the eLearning Award 2019 in the category 360° Learning Worlds. Together with the Swiss educational center Limmattal, the team around CEO Steffen Schuster developed a modern teaching concept that uses the 360° VR panorama functions newly integrated in next:classroom in a targeted and pedagogically sustainable way. neomatt GmbH has been developing next:classroom since 2016. The integrated module for displaying 360° panoramic tours with linked information is also used in the Efficient Haus Plus  project – developed for the German Federal Ministry of the Interior.

The Limmatal Training Institute specializes in logistics and technology and, thanks to the functions in the 360° Learning Worlds, is able to present otherwise inaccessible learning situations to learners in a realistic and tangible way. To ensure that learning successes can be tracked at any time by both trainers and trainees, all achievements are stored in the personal portfolio. In addition, learning checks similar to exams are carried out in a specially developed testing tool, which provides the teaching staff and trainees with detailed information about the current state of knowledge, so that individual strengths can be better identified and deficits better addressed.

This concept also convinced the jurors of the delina Award, the innovation prize for digital education. “This project promotes self-directed and individualized learning in an impressive way. The important thing here is that the digital learning offering supports discovery-based learning. The digital and analog worlds of learning are optimally integrated into an overall concept, making learning successes holistically visible,” said the jury, explaining the award.

With Bitkom e.V. as the conceptual sponsor and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as patron, the delina Award is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious awards in the education sector. For several years now, the award has been presented at the annual Learntec education trade fair in Karlsruhe. The four award categories include early childhood education and school, higher education, training and further education, and society and lifelong learning.

We congratulate edu:cube GmbH wholeheartedly on their success and are very much looking forward to further cooperation!
